今日のテーマは”私は忙しい”と”私はずっと忙しい”です
There is a confusion about “being busy” that I have noticed recently.
最近気付いた この言葉
“忙しくしている”
について誤解されている事があります
On many occasions people have stopped talking to me because I say “i’m busy”
私が”忙しい”と言うと、みなさん私に話しかけるのをやめることが度々あります
It doesn’t mean stop talking to me. It just describes the state I am in.
けっして私に話しかけないで！と言う意味ではありません。それはただ私が現在どういう状態なのかを説明しているだけです
Let me explain myself.
私自身の事をお話させて下さい
I would like to clarify the difference with examples.
例を使って明確にその違いを説明したいと

Example:
例
Question: “How are you ?”
質問: 元気ですか？
Answer: “I am busy.” (this means right now I am currently working. I am doing many tasks. But 50/50 chance I can message) If the person doesn’t say anything after. This means they are busy and can’t respond. But if they are replying. Chances are they have time to talk.
答え: 私は忙しいです(これは、私は現在、今仕事中です。と言う意味です。やる事が沢山あり、でも、メール出来るチャンスが50%はあるという事です) もしその人がその後、
何も言わなかったら、その意味は彼らは忙しくて返事出来ない状態にあるということです。でももし彼らが返事して来たら、話す時間を持てるチャンスがあるということです
Answer: “I have been busy.” (this means recently I have been preoccupied with tasks but I am able to talk)
答え: “私はずっと忙しい” (この意味は最近やる事がいっぱいだけど、話す事は出来ると言う意味です)
Answer: “I am busy, I can’t talk now.” (this means i’m currently working hard (or doing many tasks) and I am not able to reply. Please wait until I can message you later to reply)
答え: “私は忙しくて、今話せない”
( この意味は、今現在一生懸命働いていて、もしくはやる事が沢山あって、返事出来ないから、後で返事を返すまで待ってて下さいと言う意味です)
Answer: “I’m really busy.” (Many things to do at work but can talk)
答え: “私は本当に忙しい”
( 職場でやる事が沢山あるけど、話す事はできると言う意味です)
Answer: “busy as usual”. (means recently I have a lot of tasks and maybe I am in a rush but still have a chance to message).
答え: “いつも通り忙しい”
(これは現在やる事が沢山あって、たぶん急いでる感じですが、返事を返すチャンスはあると言う意味です)
Answer: “I’m really busy, sorry I can’t talk now” (Many things to do at work and I can’t talk now. I will message you later when i’m free). This is clear. Right now I can’t talk.
答え: “本当に忙しくて、すみませんが
今話せません”
( 職場でやる事が沢山あり、今話せません。後で時間がある時に返事します) これは明らかに今話せないと言う事です
There is no need to respond with “i’m sorry to bother you” or
“あなたの邪魔してごめんなさい”や
“I’m sorry I will stop messaging you” is not the response you should use.
“ごめんなさい、もうメールしません”
などと返事に書く必要はありません
You can continue messaging without fear. They will respond when they get time.
怖がらずにそのままメールを送ってくれて大丈夫です。彼らは時間がある時に返事してくれます
No need to apologize. If the person is “really busy” they will not respond to you.
謝る必要などないです。もしその人が”本当に忙しかったら” 彼らはあなたに返事を返しません
Please remember. I will reply in my own time. I don’t sit on my phone “it’s texting time”. I reply in the few minutes when I have time. So I don’t understand what time is a good time to text.

”メールする時間だよ”
というような携帯の上には座っていません
私は時間がある時は、2.3分後に返事をします。何時がメールするのに最適な時間などわかりません
