I don’t speak fast. You just listen slow.
私は早く話していません
あなたがゆっくり聞いてるからです
A common problem I have heard from English learners is that
英語を勉強してる人達からずっと聞いてる
共通の問題は
they can never understand “natives talking to each other”.
“ネイティブ同士で喋ってるとき”
何を言ってるか全然理解出来ないということです
But when they are in class they can always understand the teacher.
でも、彼らは授業などでは
その先生の言ってる事を理解しています
I never understood why until I heard a friend of mine teach.
私はその理由を英語を教えてる友人から聞くまで理解できませんでした
He sounded like he was talking in slow motion.
彼はまるでスローモーションのようにゆっくり話していました
I asked him why he spoke this way.
私はなぜそんな話し方をするのかと
彼に尋ねました
He said the students never understood him when he spoke to them at normal speeds.
彼は、普段通りのスピードで話したら
生徒達は理解出来ないだよと言いました
That is so bad for the teacher and horrible for the students.
これは先生にとってダメなことで
生徒達には非常に残酷なことです
A teacher should always try to pronounce clearly or try to use simpler terms,
先生は常に分かりやすくハッキリと発音し
より簡単な単語を使うよう心がけるべきです
But always slowly down their pace towards will now allow the student to grow.
しかし、常にゆっくり喋ることは
生徒の成長を妨げます
As a student ask your teacher to “repeat that again” or “sorry I don’t understand”.
1人の生徒があなたの先生に”もう一度言ってください” “すみません、ちょっとわかりません”などと聞いた時
You should be able to ask him “please say that simpler”. It will allow you to grow
あなたは先生に「もっと分かりやすく言ってください」と尋ねることができるはずです
それがあなたの成長に繋がります
And be able to catch natural speeds.
そして、自然なスピードで聞けるようになります
People don’t speak slower to small children, they just make the grammar easier.
ネイティブの人達は小さな子供達にゆっくり話したりせずに、ただ、文法を簡単にして話しています
I recommend this instead of talking like your talking to a dog.
