私達は”おつかれさま”とは言いません

What do you say when work is finished and everyone is going home.
仕事が終ってみんな家に帰る時
英語で何て言うの？
What do you say to your co-workers ?
同僚達に何て言いますか？
I always reply…. Just nothing or “good night”.
私はいつも、何も言わないか”おやすみ”だけしか言わないと返事します
It is not in our culture to say “good job” to someone who didn’t help us.
手伝ってくれなかった人に対して”よく頑張ったね”と言うのは、私達の文化の中にはありません
It is not in our culture to always acknowledge others’ work, daily.
毎日、他人の仕事を認めて挨拶するという文化は私達にはありません
We only acknowledge someone if they help us with our work.
私達は、仕事を一緒に手伝ってくれた時だけ
誰かにお礼を言います
Example

“Thanks for helping me translate this Reona.”
この翻訳手伝ってくれてありがとう、レオナ
Or when we want to encourage the co-
worker.
もしくは、同僚を励ましたいとき
“You did a good job with the translations Reona.”
その翻訳とてもよかったよ、レオナ
It is strange for us to always say “おつかれさま” or “thank you”.
いつも”おつかれさま”や”ありがとうと言うのは、私達にはちょっと変な感じがします
So often. In american culture if you repeat “thank you” or “sorry” so often.
